For 13 years, under 3 mayors with a large municipality, Alfred Cheung saw first-hand the compliance complexity and lack of appropriate tools and processes that inhibited the effectiveness of service delivery to those most in need. Putting people first, Alfred sought to develop process driven tools for those doing good.

Through a 5-year long research and development process including becoming a service provider to directly understand challenges and experiences of both clients and organizations, Alfred developed smarter data and technology tools to connect those in need of critical services while improving compliance and other operating efficiencies for Funders and Services Providers so that they can focus on their clients and communities. This has resulted in amazing results such as 87% increase in efficiency and yearly savings of $2.6M for a single program.

By putting people first, GoodMojo enables clients to take charge, solve significant problems, and participate in the change process. Through making connections, we are building strong human/social fabric and not just social networks.

Why the name GoodMojo?

Alfred's beloved dog Mojo lived to be 20 years old. Before Mojo passed away, a friend asked “How’s my good Mojo?” The conversation transpired to who doesn't want some good mojo? Mojo fits perfectly with our idea of a symbol that can represent kindness, friendliness and warmth. It became the name of our company and platform along with Alfred's doodle of Mojo drawn during a meeting.
